Along the Dominant Winds

Distant amiable lights are all but dimmed,
And my lover’s coo has turned to snore,
It is dark!

Curtain, the distance between me and you, is restless,
While a lascivious breeze slivers over my bare skin,
It is cold!

Thunder enunciates my name in every intrusive roar,
While lightning shows the obliged path,
It is lonely!

Silence sounds like first grade my teacher,
“You will amount to nothing!”
It is frightening!

The door feels as distant as my curiosity,
And faith left me in the age of innocence,
It is sad!

The scrupulous image shatters in the cracks of the mirror,
And the pieces blow along the dominant winds,
It is late, too late!
